As part of its summer concerts series, the Decatur Municipal Band will be presenting a special Family Concert in Central Park on Monday, June 16th at 7pm. The concert will feature music from popular Disney films and television shows and will be preceded by a wide variety of activities for young people starting at 6pm.
6pm – 6:20: Stories with READiculus
Enjoy stories read and dramatized in the unique, spirited manner of READiculous from the Decatur Public Library as they bring literature to life.
6:20 – 6:40: Disney Sing-along with Iris
Take the stage to sing your favorite Disney songs with Iris, Muni Band member and Decatur music teacher.
6:40 – 7pm: Costume contest and parade
Dress as your favorite Disney character and march to the stirring sounds of the Muni Band. Prizes will be given for the following categories: Royalty, Hero, and Most Creative
7pm: Concert
Join the Decatur Municipal Band’s performance of music from your favorite Disney shows, including Wicked, Frozen, Indiana Jones, Beauty and the Beast, and more.
Activities Included Throughout the Concert:
Disney Trivia: Win prizes by answering questions about your favorite Disney shows
Characters from Precious Little Princess Parties: Meet the princess you know and love
Photobooth with costumes and decorations: Get your picture taken with crazy costumes and backgrounds
Facepainting
Food and Ice Cream Trucks: 343 BBQ, Highway Heartburn, and Mimi’s Frosty
